Just like all other days, I was binge-watching some reels on FB and stumbled upon shots from the movie ‘Meet Joe Black’.
A movie that I probably watched a decade ago, or maybe I’d watched it much earlier. I'm not sure. Anyway, after a couple of reels that lasted only for a few seconds, the restless me wanted to watch the full movie at length. Feelings were the same, just as the first time. If I have to break it down, I will start with Brad Pitt first. How hard is it to fall for a man so handsome and have a face like the one he has in the movie now? He definitely hit all the right chords for me and millions across when the movie came out, I bet.
Secondly, I’m a person who believes that ‘What’s life if you cannot love and want to be loved’? It’s the ultimatum, isn’t it? Love is the center of our very existence. And this was a movie that showcased love in the most unusual ways. Life’s greatest joys come from the unknown, be it people or places.
The fact that ‘Death’ falls in love with a girl whilst inside another person speaks volumes. The immortals definitely envy us now for sure. Even ‘Death’ who knocks on the door when the time is right simply can not defy one of the strongest forces of nature - Love itself. The timing of ‘Death’ was so wrong in all ways.
The movie so beautifully showed how two unknown thoughts or feelings come together and how they can transform into something special. I’m going to side the optimistic path here, leaving the opposite that could happen. I was so moved and carried off like I did when watching back then, hoping for a fleeting moment ‘Death’ would stay back, and it was ‘Happily Ever After’ ending.
As the movie is nearing completion, Anthony Hopkins and Brad Pitt look back as fireworks go up in the sky, and in the distance they see people gathered. BP continues to gaze as emotions run high and AH mentions this - ‘it’s hard to let go isn’t it? ’and BP says ‘Yes it is’. ‘AH - ‘ That’s life’.
Simple lines with deep meaning.
We humans are so blessed to experience life in such infinite ways. Hope we realize the opportunities we have and are able to do justice and make this one of the best ever.
On a lighter note, personally, I couldn’t care less. If ‘Death’ fell in love with me similarly, I would totally be swept off my feet. Oh, I’d fall for the ‘Devil’ himself honestly. Who wouldn’t now if he had the looks and charm and everything else.
Love and be loved.
Life and death are a cycle. Like a river that flows in a circle. Angels and devils are our common travelers. Sometimes we are one or the other so enjoy the ride.
ReplyDeleteAngels and devils are in all of us.
ReplyDeleteVery true. It's not so bad too I guess having them around, works out well in certain situations ;-)
DeleteThere are degrees of both. We can only hope the tendency it greater on the angel spectrum.
