Love or Love Story?

A simple, straightforward question: would you prefer just Love, or would you want a Love story?Love cannot truly be defined or broken down into words. Infinite poems can be written, music composed, songs sung—yet nothing quite does justice to this emotion we all experience. We humans are truly blessed to give and receive this powerful force. For me, love can’t be put into a framework. It’s something you feel deep within your heart, something that touches your soul.

Coming back to my question—I don’t want to be in a love story. The word story itself feels like something from the past, like history. I don’t want love to end. I don’t want it to become just a memory that I carry forward. A story might be nice to recall or relate to, but then it serves a different purpose.

I want to be fully aware and conscious of this profound and powerful truth—to experience love in its fullness. I want to simply be in love, always. I don’t want a love story to begin only to fear its end. Instead, I want to dwell in the boat of being in love—with people, with life, and everything in between.

I want to flow in this beautiful cosmic space, without fear, without doubt. I want to remain in love—always—with the opportunity that comes with simply being alive.

Love and be loved!!

  1. Some random thoughts:
I've been "in love", or at least, thought I was a number of times. Human emotions and hormones often are interpreted as love to meet personal needs at a given time. To experience love in its fullness there has to be romance, trust, respect, willingness to be vulnerable and acceptance.
Love as a story is always a look in the rearview mirror of one's life. Love day-to-day is to be immersed in the highs and lows and sharing them fully with one's partner.
I believe other living things can experience a form of love. Many animals bond for life. Pets can show unlimited love and devotion. Some animals clearly morn at the death of a mate or family member.
Finally, the word "love" had been co-opted to describe desire, lust, fascination and intense interest, etc. Love between two beings is so much more that those four letters. The ultimate meaning is cosmic and indescribable and unfortunately can only be felt by a few in their lifetimes.
